Woldingham School has been selected as a Performance Centre for England Hockey from January 2017, with support from Southern Counties Hockey Association. Andy Rogers, Centre Director for the Association also coaches hockey at Woldingham School.
As part of the Performance Centre programme, players between the ages of 14-17 attend evening training sessions and take part in weekend training and competition. Centres will compete against each other, either in Cluster or Training Competitions. There are just 17 Performance Centres nationally, and players will attend the centre closest to them.
Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport, said:
“We are honoured to have been selected as one of the Performance Centres for England Hockey coaching. This is an exciting time for Sport at Woldingham and having our facilities used by England Hockey is a great accolade”.
