On Thursday 15 August, the 2024 cohort of Year 13 pupils at The Leys received the best ever A Level results in the school’s recorded history. More than 23% of all grades achieved were A* and 87% were graded A*-B.
The overwhelming majority of Leysians succeeded in securing the grades they needed to go on to their first choice of university, and it is particularly impressive that in terms of pupil outcomes, 69% of this cohort of Leysians achieved at least ABB at A Level.
Top performers include Isobel B, Harry CB, Weng Ga C, Zachary E, Sam H, Ruben M, Lizzie N, Fiona O, Harry TG and Josh W, all of whom gained all A* grades, and Naia D and Clara de S who were both named top performers in their Art A Level this year. Congratulations to Emily H and Clara de S who will both take up their places at the University of Oxford studying French and Spanish, and English Language and Literature, respectively, and to Ginny B, Lizzie N and Roberta A who will take up places to study Medicine.
Headmaster at The Leys, Martin Priestley, commented: “I’m absolutely delighted to congratulate the Upper Sixth cohort of 2024 on this genuinely outstanding set of A Level results. They worked extremely hard over the last two years and now reap the rewards in the form of these stellar outcomes. I am sure that they, like me, would be keen to pay tribute to my colleagues on the teaching and support staff, all of whom, directly or indirectly, have contributed significantly to these successes. My warmest congratulations to the Class of 2024 and my sincere thanks to all my colleagues at The Leys.”
