The Adams’ CCF (Army Section) has retained the Military Skills Competition title for the HQ Centre (West) Brigade area. This is a fantastic achievement with even more teams competing this year – sixteen against last year’s ten teams. The competition took place at Swynnerton Training Camp on 29-30th March.
On day one, the team of ten pupils, performed strongly across eight widely varying stands/scenarios. From first aid to hostage rescue and navigation, to writing a plan to support flood defence support in the local community, the outcome was in their hands for day two.
The team knocked off the speed march with no problems and then held their nerve in the laser clay pigeon shoot to retain the title. Major Jeremy Ballard, commented: “I do not remember a unit defending the title in my many years of attending the event!”
Adams’ CCF Senior Cadet CSM Adam Heller, commented “The whole team put in an amazing performance. From the seniors helping to lead the training to some of the more junior cadets giving their all for the team. It was truly an honour to lead the team.”
